Thunder Road, Hope To See You Soon

Alright,
so here we go.

We got the last one.

Um, little spring scene on the Thunder Road.

It's getting hard to,
play chords and talk non-rhythmically.

But here we are.

I heard this, you know, back in September and like I said with all things,
all art.

It makes me think of you because you are my favorite art.

Um,
ooh that was fun.

No,
but it's,
you know, I heard this and on the way out there was a little street vendor selling flowers and,
I picked the ones I did.

Uh, you know why.

Um,
and so yeah, I just hope you're uh,
hope you're doing well.

Um,
I miss you,
a lot.

You keep,
me and the sisters that you've shown up in maybe four dreams,
in the past week.

Um,
so it's,
you know, if I'm, if I'm believing in all that stuff,
you know, might as well, uh, you know,
I keep, uh, just getting little signs that I,
I feel like I should be doing this.

I feel like I should be doing more.

Um,
but for a first step,
um, I think this is,
about as far as I should, uh,
push it.

Um,
but,
you know, there's,
so, so much I want to say to you that I can't really fit, uh,
in the, uh, in trunk courts, thunder road.

Um,
but just know that I miss you and I'm wishing you the best.

Um,
and you and your family,
uh, they all have a lovely, lovely Christmas time,
uh, new years and you,
know, I hope you have a,
very nice birthday.

Um,
yeah, I'm just, I'm wishing nothing but the best.

Um, if you'd like to, uh,
see me at all, let me know.

I'm here.

I'd like to.

I know tasty treat did reopen.

I've not been yet.

Reports say, uh, you know, it doesn't have the grime and vibe of the old one for better or for worse,
but the, I didn't know they had a kid,
but their daughter runs it now.

Um, slight rebrand.

So,
if that's more,
airspeed,
let me know.

Uh, but nonetheless,
hope you're doing well.

And, uh, even if I don't,
end up seeing them,
I'm sure I'll see in my dreams.

Uh, can't really, uh,
run too far from it all.

So might as well run towards it, you know?,
All right.

I'm going to start this song now.

Um,
hope you're doing well.

Merry Christmas.

Uh, you know, if this doesn't get good,
critical reception,
I'll also say happy birthday now.

Uh, we're just holding the C chord.

Um,
yeah.

Hope you're doing well.

Merry Christmas.

Hopefully you talk soon.

The screen door slams.

Mary's dress.

Way like a vision.

She dances across the porch as the radio plays.

Roll your business.

Singing for the lonely.

Hey, that's me.

And I want you only,
don't turn me home again.

No, I just can't face myself alone again.

Don't you run back inside,
darling, you know, just what I'm here for.

So you scared and you're thinking that maybe we ain't that young anymore.

We'll show a little faith.

There's magic in the night.

You ain't a beauty,
but hey, you're all right.

Oh, and that's all right with me.

You can hide your covers and study your pain.

Make crosses for your lovers.

Throw roses in the rain.

Waste your summer brain in vain.

For a savior to rise from these streets.

Well, I'm no hero.

That's understood.

Oh, redemption I can offer girl is beneath this dirty hood.

With a chance to make it good somehow.

Hey, what else can we do now?,
It's a roll down the road.

Oh, and let the wind roll back your hair.

Well, the night's supposed to open.

These two lanes will take us anywhere.

We have one last chance to make it real.

To trade in these wings on some wheels.

Climbing back.

Oh, heaven's waiting down on the tracks.

And it's all come and take my hand.

We're riding out tonight to case the promised land.

Oh, thunder roll.

Sing oh thunder roll thunder roll.

Oh, lying out there like a killer in the sun.

Hey, I know it's late,
but we can make it if we run.

Oh, thunder roll.

It's too tight.

Take home thunder roll.

Well, I've got this guitar and I learned how to make you tall.

Get my cars out back if you're ready to take that long walk,
from the front porch of my front seat.

The door's open, but the route ain't free.

Hey, I know you're lonely for the words that I ain't spoken,
but tonight we'll be free.

All the promises will be broken.

And there were ghosts in the eyes of all the boys you sent away.

They haunt this dusty beach road and the skeleton frames will burn out Chevrolet's.

They'll scream your name for a night at the street,
and graduation gown lights and bags at their feet.

And the lonely cool before dawn,
you hear engines roaring on.

But then you get to the porch and they're gone,
on the wind.

Merry climbing.

It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win.

Love you.

Merry Christmas, Lou.
