Fairytale Of New York

Merry Christmas.

Hello.

A little odd here,
I can do some explaining, I promise.

So I made you some tracks,
some songs.

I made you one song,
two others are covers.

But I made you some songs and I,
turned a three minute song into a nine minute song because I was,
just kind of talking at the beginning,
going on and on about missing you.

It's crazy.

And so,
you know,
they sent me an email being like,
we can't publish this and I said, understood.

So,
I'm now playing chords underneath and hopefully,
that'll satisfy them a little bit,
pass their little tests.

But yeah, I just wanted to make you something or give you something.

You're a very special person to me.

So I wanted to do something still for Christmas and I know,
your birthday is right around the corner too.

So,
you know,
you're important to me.

So I still want to do something.

And so here is something,
here's some songs for you.

And frankly, dropping someone off on your doorstep,
seemed a little intimidating for me right now.

And based on the reception to the flowers and letters in September,
I'm gonna take the hint and do it from arm's length away.

So here are some songs for you.

First one you're gonna hear right now is Fairy Tale of New York by the Pogues.

It's the first song I can,
never remember really hearing on vinyl.

It was at my grandma and grandparents house on Christmas in 2010,
2011, 2011.

And they had a big,
beautiful record player like the one,
in your front room.

Like I'm gonna hit the head if I should fall from grace,
by the Pogues on vinyl.

I remember he playing this song.

And it's a beautiful tune.

And we're sitting there lying down on,
this awful like blue shag carpeting.

And it was,
wonderful.

People were dancing all around me.

It was a very cool moment.

And so,
I think about you with this,
song quite a lot.

It's kind of been a favorite of mine since 2011,
since I knew what music was.

But it kind of captures that magic of Christmas that I feel without Sound 2 on a,
high horse so often gets kind of lost the older I get.

I know we've talked about that too.

And so it's this song kind of puts me back and you know,
it was a very...

you are very entangled with the joy of Christmas.

Like falling in love with someone,
while Christmas was happening is a crazy thing.

Because it was something I,
never felt before and just,
entangled with this happy time of year.

But then finding out that there's a lot more to it.

And so I think about you quite a bit all the time really.

So yeah, so you're going to get three songs,
one original,
two covers here.

All being recorded on piano 314,
which is the room where you left that little duck in the piano last year.

And so,
you know, hopefully this gets past those systems and I'm able to put this up.

Anyways,
here's Fairy Tale New York by the Pokes.

You won't see another one.

And then he sang us a,
the rare old mountain dew.

I turned my face away,
and dreamed about,
you.

Got on a lucky one.

Came in 18 to one.

Oh, I've got a feeling.

This year's for me and you.

So happy Christmas.

I love you, baby.

Oh, I can see better times.

When all our dreams came true.

They've got cars, big as bars.

They've got rivers of gold.

When the wind blows right through you,
it's no place for the old.

When you first took my hand on a cold Christmas Eve,
you promised me Broadway was waiting for me.

You're handsome, you're pretty queen of New York City.

When the band finished playing,
oh, they howled out for more.

Sinatra was swinging all the drums.

They were singing.

We kissed on the corner and danced through the night.

And the boys of the NYPD choir,
were singing Galloway Bay.

And the bells were ringing out,
on Christmas Day.

Oh, I could have been someone.

Well, so could anyone.

You took my dreams from me,
when I first found you.

Why you kept them with me,
babe?,
I put them on my own.

Can't make it all alone.

I've built my dreams,
around you.

And the boys of the NYPD choir are still singing Galloway Bay.

And the bells were ringing out,
on Christmas Day.

So there it is.

There's Fairytale New York for you.

Got a few more on the way.

Hope you enjoy.

Merry Christmas.
